Jane L. Dockery 
M.B.A.
Associate Director and Director for Economic Development, CUPA

Ms. Dockery obtained her M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota, AFIT. She has been with CUPA since 1990. Her areas of specialization include strategic planning, focus group methodology and facilitation; program evaluation, micro-level health care and economic development research, especially focusing on strategic change in each of those industries. She also teaches courses on Economic Analysis of Neighborhoods and Regions, Urban Economic Development, High Performance Work Places and Work Teams.

Jack L. Dustin 
Ph.D., Organization Theory and Community Development
Department Chair and Associate Professor

Dr. Dustin graduated from University of Delaware in 1991. He specializes in  neighborhood and community development corporations, community  planning, urban policy; and program evaluation. Dr. Dustin is chair of the Department of Urban Affairs and Geography, as well as the director of the Center for Urban and Public Affairs (CUPA). He also directed the COPC program; wrote the evaluation plan for the Dayton Hope VI HUD application; directed a comprehensive plan for Dayton Parks and Recreation; sits on the Community Reinvestment Board for Fifth Third Bank, the Ohio Board of Regents Advisory Committee for the Urban University Program, and a review panel for a Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation assessment of St. Mary CDC and for the CountyCorp affordable housing development plan.

Carol Hooker 
M.U.A, Urban Administration
Research/GIS Data Analyst

Ms. Hooker holds a Master of Urban Administration (now Public Administration) and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Affairs from Wright State University, and an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technologies. Her primary responsibilities include coordination of GIS and data management activities, creating and maintaining databases for CUPA to be used in local, regional, and statewide projects. Ms. Hooker also analyzes statistical data and technical reports, and oversees software and hardware upgrades and maintenance.

T. David Jones 
M.P.A, Public Administration
Research Associate

Mr. Jones graduated with an M.P.A. in June, 2003 from Wright State University. He joined CUPA in October, 1999 as a Student Research Assistant and is currently the Director of the CUPA Research Lab. His current activities include survey design and implementation, statistical analysis, data analysis, report writing, meeting facilitation, and supervisor of the student telephone interviewers.

Patricia Jones 
M.U.A, Urban Administration
Director, Summerbridge Dayton and Southwest Ohio OCPM Coordinator

Ms. Jones holds a Master of Urban Administration (now Public Administration) from Wright State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. She is Director of Summerbridge Dayton, a year-round outreach program for Dayton Public middle school students. Summerbridge Dayton is a unique academic enrichment program designed to prepare middle school students to enter and succeed in college preparatory high schools while providing an opportunity for college students to fully experience teaching.

Jerri Killian 
Ph.D., Public Affairs
Associate Professor and MPA Director

Dr. Killian graduated from University of Colorado in Denver with emphasis in Public Administration and Public Management.  Dr. Killian is the Director of Ohio Certified Public Managers Southwest Program, a strategic planner with the City of Beavercreek, and CUPA-UUP Education Network representative. 

Kenneth J. Lowrey 
M.S., Geography
GIS Research Associate

Mr. Lowrey graduated from Southern Illinois University with an M.S. in Geography and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from The University of Cincinnati. He is currently teaching GIS, Physical Geography, Comparative Non-Western Environments, and World Regional. Mr. Lowrey represented CUPA in the First Suburbs Consortium and CUPA-UUP geographic Information System Network.

Mary Ellen Mazey 
Professor and Dean of the College of Liberal Arts
Ph.D., Strategic Planning and Regionalism

Dr. Mazey is the previous Chair of the Department of Urban Affairs & Geography. During 1996-97, Dr. Mazey  held an inter-governmental personnel appointment and served as director of the Office of University Partnerships for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. She was founding director of WSU's Center for Urban and Public Affairs and held the title of Wright State University Distinguished Professor of Professional Service from 1993 to 1996. Her area of scholarly and applied research include strategic planning, regional cooperation, and university community partnerships.

Jennifer Subban 
Ph.D., Public Studies
Assistant Professor

Dr. Subban graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Master of Urban and Regional Planning and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies. Her areas of specialization include program development, project management, family literacy, and issues of race, culture, and gender in community development and the nonprofit sector.

Mary V. Wenning
Ph.D., Urban Affairs
Assistant Professor

Dr. Wenning graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995. Currently, Dr. Wenning is the Project Coordinator for the Women's Research Network. At the same time she is the Wright State Representative at the Ohio Housing Network. Dr. Wenning's research interests include Housing/Community Development, Residential Mobility, and Demographic Analysis.
