James M. Munch is Professor and Chairman of the Marketing and International Business Department at Wright State University. Professor Munch received his BBA (Cum Laude) from St. Bonaventure University, MBA from Syracuse University, and PhD from Penn State University. His PhD thesis received The Robert Ferber Award (honorable mention) as one of the top consumer research dissertations in the United States.

Prior to Wright State, Professor Munch was a tenured member of the Graduate Faculty at University of Texas at Arlington, Kent State University and University of Delaware. He has taught EMBA, MBA, and sponsored management courses for University of Texas Arlington, Southern Methodist University, The University of Texas at Dallas, and the UTD/ UT Southwestern Medical Center Alliance for Medical Management Program. Over the last several years, Professor Munch regularly traveled to China to teach global marketing strategy in UTA’s global partnership EMBA program with The University of Science and Technology in Beijing, The Institute of Science and Technology in Suzhou and delivered executive programs in Taiwan. Prior to his academic career he also held sales and marketing positions with Carnation Company and Federal Wholesale Company, Hubbard, Ohio.

Professor Munch currently serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Business Research, Psychology and Marketing, and The Academy of Marketing Science Review. He has written numerous marketing research articles that have appeared in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, and The Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. He is a past recipient of the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business Distinguished Professional Publication Research Award.

Dr. Munch has served as marketing consultant and educator for a number of global corporations including E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company, Bank of America (MBNA), World Factory Inc., Lee Services Dallas, and Marketing Management Inc., (MMI) Fort Worth, Texas. In the year 2006-7, Professor Munch was again selected for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers; he received the UTA 2002-2003 College of Business Administration Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award; and has been regularly selected for Who’s Who Among America’s Graduate School Business Professors. Dr. Munch lives in Springboro, Ohio with his wife Terri and family.
