Oelman Hall
Oelman
Hall, the second building in the Founders' Quadrangle, now houses the College
of Science and Mathematics, the Chemistry department,
various university departments, and classrooms. Brehm Lab, an addition completed
in 1973, houses environmental studies and research, chemical research, and geology
labs. The building was named in honor of Robers S. Oelman, who cochaired along
with Stanley C. Allyn the university'sbuilding fund, which launched the university.
Completed in 1966, it housed the Oelman Auditorium which for several years was
the only facility for large meetings, performances, and visiting speakers. Oelman
Hall also housed the office of founding president, Brage Golding.
