Shea Neal

General Manager, WWSU 106.9 FM
B.A., mass communication, minor in business

A prior student-athlete while in high school, Shea searched for an outlet to embrace his love for sports in a new way. Shortly after arriving at Wright State, the new student discovered a new passion: sports broadcasting. He joined WWSU 106.9 FM in an un-paid basketball broadcasting role and was known for spending countless hours at the station.

In January 2019, he was promoted to sports director, where he became responsible for the radio station’s sports operations. Since his arrival as sports director, Shea and his team have worked tirelessly to improve ratings and listenership. The media organization’s sports broadcast ratings have quadrupled since his first year on staff.

Neal is a mass communication major with a business minor at Wright State University, with an emphasis on marketing. In March 2021, he was named WWSU’s general manager – the station’s top leadership role. His new focus at WWSU is centered around growing as a leader and as a media personality and he is eager to start a new chapter at WWSU.

“WWSU is a historic brand with limitless resources and opportunities, and our team can’t wait to honor the station’s past whilst also mapping out a new and exciting future,” Neal said.

Neal is also an on-air talent and producer for ESPN Radio – Dayton.
