We are proud to welcome you home, Raider.

Friday, August 19–Sunday, August 21

Congratulations! You did it—you’re officially a Wright State Raider. It is no secret that the past year has tested us all, and we are so excited you will be joining us at Wright State University. Community is much more than a theme for this year’s First Weekend. Together, we can do great things. First Weekend is a three-day event designed to acclimate first-year and transfer students, both residential and commuter, to campus. Throughout the weekend, our goal is to instill a feeling of belonging and community by building relationships with other students, staff, and faculty.

Packed full of events, activities, and information sessions, First Weekend is an experience like no other.

First Weekend is also the time to complete any final preparations before the beginning of the Fall Semester, such as visiting the University BookstoreRaiderConnect for billing, or exploring classrooms and laboratories.

Commuter Registration

All non-residential students must register for First Weekend. Registration is due August 15 at 5 p.m. Unlike residential students, commuter students are not required to have a meal plan. Since First Weekend meals are included with residential meal plans, commuter students must purchase their meal tickets separately.

Once registered, the First Weekend team will prepare your materials for your arrival. Students who do not register may experience a delay during check-in.

Engage and the CORQ AppFirst Weekend Event mark

Engage is your one-stop shop for everything student involvement at Wright State. From club fairs, student activities and events, club meetings, service projects, and more! Engage is also the home for everything First Weekend. Every First Weekend event is labeled with the official "First Weekend Event" mark. These are events you do not want to miss.

Log on to Engage

Engage is an online community for all Wright State students to discover opportunities to get involved on campus. Visit and log on using your W# by clicking on the blue "Sign In" button.

Update your Profile

Be known! You will see a circle with your initials in the upper right-hand corner, click on it, and then your name. Feel free to add as much information about yourself that you wish. We also encourage you to add a suitable photo.

Navigate to "Events"

Underneath the Wright State University logo, you will see five tabs. Click on "events" to open the event directory.

Sort First Weekend Events

On the left-hand side, you will see a "Categories" dropdown. Using this function, you can now filter out non-First Weekend events. Once completed, you can now explore all First Weekend events on campus, see who is planning the events, and RSVP, if you choose.

Download the CORQ App

All First Weekend events can also be accessed at your fingertips. Download the CORQ app to discover events and other engagement opportunities in real-time. Lucky for you, the fun doesn't stop after First Weekend. There are hundreds of events occurring every month—all available on CORQ!

Academic Support and Transition

We get it—college can be challenging. We are here to support you on your transition to being a Raider. Discover academic support, co-curricular, and wellbeing resources available to you.

Get involved and explore what it means to be a Raider. No matter your status, there is always something to do at Wright State. Find a club or organization, student activities, and many other engagement opportunities.

Tradition and Pride

A common purpose binds Raiders together; like a wolf pack, no Raider walks alone. Celebrate what it means to be a Wright State Raider, wear your green and gold with pride, and reach for the sky.

First Weekend Leaders

We are looking for some leaders to help new Raiders get acclimated to campus. First Weekend Volunteers will assist in participating in various tasks, events, and most importantly, meeting our incoming students during First Weekend festivities.
