Faculty and Staff: What is Life Coaching?

In Life Coaching, offered by Counseling and Wellness Services, students are assisted via a brief intervention model to develop problem-solving strategies. This approach affords them the best opportunity to be successful in their studies. These services are provided by experienced clinicians who work to ensure student needs are being met via the best service option (e.g., life coaching, therapy, assessment, etc.).

Anyone can benefit from Life Coaching. Life Coaching services can help students proactively prepare for life challenges and identify the support and resources they need. This service can address performance enhancement, wellness, skill acquisition, and overall life satisfaction. Some students may be more receptive to Life Coaching than therapy.

Areas Life Coaching can address:

  • Test anxiety
  • Interpersonal conflicts
  • Procrastination
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Struggles with motivation
  • Academic stress
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Time management
  • Improving organizational strategies
  • Communication issues
  • Difficulty managing finances

Life Coaching Workshops

Life Coaching workshops address specific skill areas that support student success and wellbeing. The brief nature of workshops promotes flexibility in the range of topics that can be delivered.   Counseling and Wellness Services offers both live and recorded workshops.
