The longest higher education strike in state history appears to be over as the Wright State administration and the AAUP-WSU faculty union both announced a tentative agreement late Sunday night.

The deal will mean striking faculty members will return to the classrooms Monday morning. In a statement, Wright State President Cheryl Schrader said, "This agreement serves Wright State University and our students well. Both parties made substantial concessions to help move the university forward together."

In the same release, AAUP-WSU President Marty Kich said, "I am sure all our members are glad to be going back to the classroom where we hope things will return to normal for our students as soon as possible."

At this time the Wright State Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 5:30 pm Monday to discuss collective bargaining.
