Two with WSU connections to be inducted into Dayton Walk of Fame

Hannah Beachler (top, right), a graduate of the WSU Motion Pictures program, and Julia Reichert (bottom, right), a retired faculty member from the WSU Motion Pictures program, have been selected for induction into the Dayton Walk of Fame.

Beachler, a native of Centerville, was recently recognized for her work as production designer for the record-breaking film “Black Panther.” In 2013, her film "Fruitvale Station" won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Film at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2017 she was nominated for an Emmy and won the Art Directors Guild Award for Excellent in Production Design for a video for Beyoncé.

Julia Reichert is a three-time Oscar nominee. Her film, “Growing Up Female,” has been selected by the Library of Congress for inclusion in the National Film Registry. Her film “The Last Truck,” documenting the closing of the General Motors factory in Moraine, won the Sundance Film Festival’s Primetime Emmy for Exceptional Merit.
