DDN: Wright State’s Love named Horizon League Player of the Year

Wright State junior Loudon Love on Monday was named Horizon League Player of the Year.

Love, a 6-foot-9 center, averages 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game for the HL-champion Raiders.

WSU’s Scott Nagy was named Co-Coach of the Year.

The Raiders’ Bill Wampler, Cole Gentry, Tanner Holden and Grant Basile also were honored by the league.

Wampler, a 6-6 forward, is a second-team selection, while Gentry, a 5-10 guard, is a third-team pick.

Holden, a 6-6 guard, and Basile, a 6-9 forward, were named to the all-freshman team.

Love was joined on the first team by Antoine Davis of Detroit, JayQuan McCloud of Green Bay, Xavier Hill-Mais of Oakland and Wayne graduate Darius Quisenberry of Cleveland State. Nagy shared coach of the year honors with Cleveland State’s Dennis Gates.
