DDN: Wright State hopes to limit damage from one of NCAA’s all-time top scorers

Antoine Davis

Excerpt from the Dayton Daily News

If opposing coaches want to know how best to defend Detroit Mercy star Antoine Davis, they might be able to find some answers from Wright State’s Scott Nagy, who’s faced the scoring machine as much as anyone.

True, Davis torched the Raiders for 48 points in a 79-58 win as a freshman — and Nagy probably still hasn’t gotten over the Titans leaving him in for the last few minutes with the game decided in an effort to reach 50.

But since that night, the 6-foot-1 guard has averaged 20.0 points over seven games in the series on 36.4% shooting.

That may not sound all that impressive, but Davis has been one the most prolific scorers in NCAA history.

The four-time Horizon League scoring champ is seventh all-time with 3,103 points, one of only 10 players to reach 3,000.
