CaTS will be conducting system maintenance on Friday, May 3, from 5 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. During this time you may experience brief outages when trying to connect WSU systems and services. Introducing a New & Secure Wireless Network
On Tuesday, April 30, CaTS will be turning on a new wireless network for both the Dunbar Library and the Student Union. This network, called “WSU-Secure”, provides a more secure wireless connection and will require you to log in with your campus username and password in order to use it. Please note that at this time “WSU-Secure” is not replacing the current “WSU Wireless” connection. The “WSU_EZ_Connect” network will also remain available. You can still use these wireless networks without logging in.
If you’d like to try “WSU-Secure”, follow the basic instructions below. If you need more in depth instructions, visit the Wireless Authentication page, located at:
- Navigate to http://access.wright.edu/wireless
- Download and run the software installer. This will configure WSU-Secure on your machine so that you can use the connection.
All other devices (Macs, phones, tablets, etc.):
- Connect to the “WSU-Secure” wireless network.
- If prompted regarding a certificate for authctrl.wright.edu, install the certificate.
- Enter your campus username and password for authentication.

Elimination of Video Services in Classrooms
Beginning May 1, 2013 and continuing through September 1, CaTS will be eliminating the Cable Programming/Video service currently available in electronic classrooms and computer-based labs. All current rooms will have the cable tuners removed and new classroom will not have the tuners installed.
Currently, the best source for receiving video content in the classrooms is by way of the internet through websites and streaming video. If you need to view Wright State produced programming you may do so on the University’s PEG channel at http://www.wright.edu/cats/technical/eventstream/. Select the “Video on Demand” option. You may also view University content on the Communications and Marketing Newsroom page at http://webapp2.wright.edu/web1/newsroom/.

Print a Message in Outlook Web App (OWA)
If you would like to print an email message from within Outlook Web App, follow these steps.
- After logging in to Outlook Web App, double-click on the email message you want to print.
- On the top bar, near the middle, you'll see a printer icon.
- Click the icon to see a printable view of your email.
- Use the print dialog box that appears with the printable view to print your message.
- Note: If you don't double-click the message before trying to print, you will instead get a printout of the entire screen, including your folder list on the left and the menu bar at the top.

Banner Admin Connectivity Issues for 4/8/13
Currently, some users are experiencing intermittent connection issues when using Banner Admin. CaTS is aware of this situation and is working with the software vendor on a resolution. Later this evening, we will be restarting the Banner Admin service in hopes of restoring full connectivity. CaTS will notify the university when the system is fully operational.

Best Practices for Your Email & Calendar
Calendar Permissions: Letting Others See Your Calendar
If you would like others to see your calendar, CaTS recommends that you set permissions for those users instead of using the "Share Your Calendar" option available in Outlook and Outlook Web App (OWA). Using the "Share Your Calendar" feature will cause unexpected permissions changes to any that you have already set.

Best Practices for Calendar Permissions
After setting calendar permissions for someone to view your calendar, you should always let them know via email or phone that you have set those permissions for them. That person will then need to open your calendar using the instructions outlined on the following pages:

Turn Off Junk Email Filtering in Outlook and Outlook Web App (OWA)
CaTS continues to work on minimizing the amount of valid e-mail which is being sent to your "Junk E-Mail" folder. If this is a problem for you, this feature can be safely turned off so that all messages are delivered to your inbox. The university is continuing to use the Proofpoint antispam/antivirus services which accurately identifies and quarantines actual spam before it gets to the Microsoft mail servers.
The following procedures can be used to turn off Junk E-Mail filtering within RaiderMail. Note that if you use an email client other than Outlook Web App (OWA) or Microsoft Outlook, please use the instructions outlined below for "Outlook Web App (OWA)".
Outlook Web App (OWA)
1.Log in to Outlook Web App.
2.In the top right corner, click on Options then See All Options...
3.Click Block or Allow on the left side menu.
4.Choose the option for Don't move e-mail to my Junk E-Mail folder.
5.Click Save in the bottom right corner.
1.Open Outlook 2010.
2.Click the Home tab if not already selected.
3.In the Delete subgroup, click the Junk' drop down menu.
4.Choose Junk E-mail Options...
5.Choose the option for No Automatic Filtering.
1.Open Outlook 2011.
2.From the Home tab, select the Junk button.
3.Choose Junk E-mail Protection... from the drop down menu.
4.In the Junk E-mail Options window, the Level Tab is selected by default. Select the No Automatic Filtering radio button under this tab.
5.Click the OK button.
