Wright State University offers parenting support to its staff, faculty, and student parents.
- Daycare on campus is provided by the Wright State University Child Development Center (commonly known as Mini University or Mini-U), This center, first accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in January 1990, offers quality early care and education for children six weeks to 12 years old.
- Pregnancy Leave Policy
- Faculty Parental Teaching Relief and Leave Policies: The Wright State University parental teaching relief policy is described in the Tenure Eligible and Tenured Faculty (TET) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and the Non-Tenure Eligible (NTE) Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), section 31.6. There are additional provisions for faculty parents, such as sick leave and family and medical leave (FMLA), unpaid child-care leave, partial unpaid leave, and probationary period extensions.

- Adoption Assistance
- Faculty Adoption Assistance is described in section 31.7 of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Staff Adoption Assistance: All classified, unclassified hourly, and unclassified employees who have a 75 percent or greater annual full-time equivalent appointment may qualify for reimbursement of certain expenses, up to the lesser of $4,000 or the eligible employee's actual expenses, associated with adoption of a child under the age of 18. Information is described in the Office of Human Resources adoption assistance plan.
- Housing for student parents is available in the campus apartment community, The Village. To get more information and begin the application process, visit the Residence Life and Housing website.
- Lactation Rooms: Four lactation rooms are available on campus to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Located in Allyn Hall, Biological Sciences Building, Oelman Hall, and the Student Union, the rooms offer a quiet space for nursing. - Wright Parenting is a student organization that helps student parents while they earn their college degrees. All current or prospective student parents are invited to join. - Scholarships for Student Parents: The Women’s Center offers several scholarship each year. The Wilda Murray Ehrenfried Scholarship is intended to help provide funding for women with dependent children.
The Women's Center prides itself on offering a space for everyone on campus to visit and use. We have created a friendly, feminist space dedicated to fostering community. The space, located inside 148 Millet Hall, has areas for reading, conversation, and community-building. The Feminist Community and Reading Space offers an extensive library of historical and contemporary writings on women and gender-centered topics, as well as a self-service coffee and tea area.
- Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) offers the largest database of higher education and related jobs in the world. It is a non-profit consortium of over 600 colleges, universities, hospitals, research labs, government agencies, and related non- and for-profit organizations.
- The promotion and tenure process at Wright State University, including the general, departmental, and college procedures, is described in Article 13 of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Salary Information: Minimum base salary and additional compensation information for bargaining unit faculty, is described in Articles 24 and 25 of the collective bargaining agreement.
- We offer fellowship and professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
- Networking on campus is possible through the Women Faculty Rendezvous. This networking event, one per fall and spring terms, enables women faculty to share news, meet new faculty, and hear about research, and other professional opportunities.
