The 36th Annual Ryterband Symposium will be held at Wright State University on Monday, November 17, 2014. The symposium will feature Rodger Kamenetz, an award-winning poet, author, and professor emeritus of English and Religious Studies at Louisiana State University. Of his ten books, the best known is "The Jew in the Lotus," the story of rabbis making a holy pilgrimage through India to meet the Dalai Lama. Rodger Kamenetz will deliver two lectures at Wright State. The first, which begins at 3:30, is titled "The Soul of a Jewish Poet: Why Poetry Still Matters," and the second, which begins at 7:30, is titled "The Jew in the Lotus: Spiritual Encounters with the Dalai Lama, a Retrospective." Both lectures are free and open to the university community and general public.
