ARE YOU A STEM STUDENT LOOKING FOR AN INTERNSHIP/ RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY? ARE YOU A FACULTY MEMBER LOOKING FOR A RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY?

ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute of Science & Education) recruiters will be on campus and want to talk to STEM students and faculty looking for internships/ research! ORISE provides research-based internship opportunities in governmental agencies. These opportunities vary in length, from the shorter summer internships to longer 12-month internships. All provide a stipend to participants, and at the discretion of the sponsor, a health insurance supplement, travel, and professional development/training support. ORISE has a whole supports more than 20 federal departments including CDC, EPA, FDA, FBI, and NIH.  https://orise.orau.gov/. They have opportunities for all degree levels from undergraduate through postdoctoral students. There are also opportunities for faculty research. Note: Many positions require U.S. Citizenship, but not all. Some are offered to non- U.S. Citizens who have lived in the U.S. for 3+ years.

Recruiters, Rachel Creager and Sarah Harkness will lead the overview and discussion, and show the students/ faculty the system they use to post opportunities. Q & A will follow.
