DRAWING FROM PERCEPTION VII
January 13-February 24, 2013

Drawing from Perception is a national drawing exhibition organized by Wright State University’s Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries and Department of Art and Art History. Its aim is to highlight the finest contemporary examples of drawing from direct observation.

Stanley Lewis received his BA from Wesleyan University and BFA and MFA from Yale as a Danforth Fellow. Lewis has taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, Smith College,The American University, and the NewYork Studio School. Lewis is a member of the Betty Cuningham Gallery in New York. His work is in the collections of William Louis-Dreyfus, Henry Justin and the University of Indiana, among others. Awards include the Altman Prize, a Henry Ward Ranger Fund Purchase Award from the National Academy of Design, and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Exhibition Reception

The opening reception for Drawing from Perception VII will take place on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in the Stein Galleries, A132 Creative Arts Center. Preceding the reception will be a free public lecture at 2:30 pm by Stanley Lewis, in M252 Creative Arts Center.
