"Dear Sister: Letters from Survivors of Sexual Violence" Book Reading and Discussion

There will first be a book reading featuring some of the contributors to the anthology, including WSU Department of English faculty member Andrea Harris, at 11:00 am in the Rathskeller Room (008 SU). The reading will be followed by the Women's Center Spring Reading Selection Book Discussion at 12:30 pm, also in the Raskeller Room. Lisa Factora-Borchers is a Filipina American writer, activist, and editor of the Dear Sister anthology. Lisa worked extensively with survivors of sexual violence in non profits, coalitions, and university settings before applying her work to the literary world. Lisa earned a BA in English from Xavier University and a joint masters in Counseling Psychology and Pastoral Ministry from Boston College. She was an assistant editor at make/shift magazine for three years, and her work can be found in Left Turn, Critical Moment, In the Fray, TruthOut, The Feminist Wire, and Bitch magazines. Her interests focus on liberation, spirituality, mental health, parenting, gender, digital media, and transnational feminist action. She lives with her life partner and their son in Cleveland, Ohio.
