Presenting David’s Place - An LGBTQ Youth Resource Hub

Established in 1975, Daybreak is the ONLY 24-hour crisis line and shelter for the Miami Valley’s runaway, throwaway, and homeless youth. Recently, Daybreak formed an LGBTQ+ team, led by Josh Egeland, the LGBTQ+ Program Liaison. This team is providing their valuable, and rare, resources and support to the LGBTQ+ youth in our community. Josh and his team will share more about David’s Place, an LGBTQ youth resource hub at Daybreak complete with drop-in resources, support groups for ages 18-24, and individualized services for anyone in need.


The Importance of Gender Affirming Clothing on Mental Health & Self-Worth

Join Closet Transformation, a new clothing exchange serving the trans community of the Miami Valley, for a look at the importance of gender affirming clothing and LGBTQ representation in fashion.


Binder Health Lunch & Learn with B.UR.SLF, LLC.

B.UR.SLF, LLC. will talk about tips & safety for binder wear and how to properly wash your binder. We will do a comparison of leading binders available on the market including the B.UR.SLF Breathable binder as well as a short overview of our available products. There will be a Q&A at the end for participants.


Inclusive Excellence Series: Being LGBTQA at Wright State

What is it like to be an LGBTQA student at Wright State University? The Undergraduate Admissions Office and LGBTQA Affairs will host a panel of LGBTQA students who will share their experiences at WSU and the inclusion efforts of the university for prospective students and families. Admissions will also share information on how to apply, important deadlines, and scholarship opportunities, which include 3 LGBTQA Affairs scholarships.

Public Health Issues for Transgender People

Jerry Mallicoat, the LGBTQ Health Initiatives Project Manager with Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County, will provide an overview of public health and health-related issues for transgender people through a health equity lens, including an overview of how social determinants of health can impact trans people's lives.


Trans Family Experiences

There are many different experiences of family within the trans community. Listen in on a panel of parents of trans children, trans parents, and a representative from CHOICES, Inc. (Children Have Options in Caring Environments) talk about what it is like to be a trans family in our community and the support and resources available in foster care and adoption.
