What is Raiderthon?

Raiderthon is more dance parties, more birthdays, and more sleepovers. It is more cake, more spaghetti, and more s’mores. Raiderthon is giving back to the community and the families who give so much of themselves. It's fighting to "Change Kids' Health Because Kids Can't Wait"!

Dayton Children’s treats nearly 500,000 kids each year, so our goal is to raise $56,225 to reach half a million dollars raised for the hospital since 2013! Raiderthon was created with the dream of helping children in need, and that ideal is evident in every event, restaurant takeover, and fundraiser. The money raised through Raiderthon helps families and kids in our community just like Levi. Levi was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 5. Today, Levi is 10 years old and cancer-free! Learn more about Levi's story here

Originally organized by a small group of Wright State students known as Miracle Makers, we now have a volunteer list of over 75 people, including an executive committee, a steering committee, a team of morale captains, and 35+ general volunteers to help put together a wonderful event for our Miracle Families. We also have 500+ dedicated dancers and would like to make sure you are one of them! We would love for you to be a part of our team - check us out on Engage.

Wright State's 10th annual Raiderthon took place on April 1, 2023, from noon to midnight, in the Student Union Apollo Room. Our goal this year is to raise money in support of Dayton Children's new mental health facility and to raise awareness about mental health in kids. For an inside look at Raiderthon 2023, click here!

What is a Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathons are huge philanthropy events, dedicated to helping raise awareness and money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. More importantly, they give families of those being treated for a multitude of illnesses the amazing opportunity to put all of their cares away and have a great time!

Occurring at over 400 universities and high schools all across America and lasting from anywhere 8 to 40 hours, this dance party is the ultimate culmination of hard work and dedication as well as fundraising, mini-events, and fun activities. During the event, school dancers, families, and volunteers come together to celebrate this hard work by dancing, playing games, and enjoying live entertainment.

The Wright State Dance Marathon lasts 12 hours and is hosted in late spring. We look forward to seeing you there!
