Cameos of Caring

Southview Medical Center—Angela Madden

Recognition Year:
2012

Angela “Angie” Madden has been a Registered Nurse for almost 19 years, and all of those years have been spent at Southview Medical Center. She is currently a staff nurse in the Medical-Surgical Unit. One of her colleagues writes that Angie is responsible for a lot of the successes in their unit. Angie frequently steps in to help other nurses’ patients because she truly sees all of the patients on the unit as part of her responsibility. She is known as a very hard-working and knowledgeable nurse who is able to delegate but still be a very strong part of the team. Her caring attitude is directed to both her patients and her team. Angie volunteers for almost every project on her unit and does 100 percent of the unit’s call backs. She works with the staff to improve the process of blood documentation, reading EKGs in Epic for physicians, and maximizing bedside support. When she is with nursing students, she is patient, well organized, and thorough so they can learn in a calm environment. Angie earned her B.S.N. from Miami University. She serves as a member of Southview’s Performance Improvement Council and, as a Super User, she provides Epic training at various hospitals.
