Kindred Hospital—Kathryn Spencer

Kathryn Spencer has been a Registered Nurse for two years and has worked since graduation at Kindred Hospital as a staff nurse. Kathryn always addresses her patient in a respectful manner and makes that patient the center of her actions. By including her patient’s input into her daily plan of care, Kathryn is able to anticipate the patient’s needs and expectations. She strives to be flexible and is able to shift gears comfortably. The ability to make high-quality decisions based on her analysis, insight, and experience make her an excellent clinician and resource to her peers. She is frequently recognized for her kindness and compassion by both her patients and their families. Kathryn’s peers perceive her as a trustworthy, dependable, bright, and an articulate nurse who deals with the complexity of the step-down patient with ease. In 2014, she received Kindred Hospital’s Touch of Life Award and was also a runner-up for the hospital’s Nurse of the Year Award. Kathryn earned her AAS in Nursing from Sinclair Community College.
