Annie Milburn has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years, working at Fort Hamilton Hospital the entire time. She is currently a staff nurse in the 4 Main Unit. Annie is considered by her peers to be one of the unit’s greatest assets. By nature, she is cheerful and optimistic, greeting everyone with a smile. When she works with her patients, she seeks to understand both their physical and emotional needs. She treats her patients with the upmost respect and kindness; she is an outstanding patient advocate and ensures that her patients’ needs are always met. Annie’s peers remark that she embodies the highest standard of behavior and that she is completely trustworthy, innovative, caring, competent, and collaborative. Annie is quick to take action to help other staff members in need; she always seems to have the solution to a problem. As a valued and respected mentor, she empowers, inspires, and supports new staff members. Annie earned her A.D.N. from Miami University. In 2010, she received Fort Hamilton’s Daisy Award, which celebrates outstanding compassionate care delivered by nurses. She is also a member of the hospital’s Medical/Surgical Nursing Advisory Council.
