Dayton Children's Hospital—Erica Yanney

Recognition Year:
2015

Erica Yanney has been a Registered Nurse for seven years and has worked all those years at Dayton Children’s Hospital. She is currently a Staff Nurse in the Almost Home Unit, a short-stay/observation unit where her clinical expertise is put to great use. Erica is no stranger to Dayton Children’s—she was a patient there when she was 12 years old! She has been recognized so many times on patient satisfaction surveys that she was featured in the hospital-wide newsletter highlighting just how many times she was recognized on those surveys. She is said always to have a smile and can quickly connect with her patients and their families. Always maintaining a positive attitude even during challenging times, she knows exactly when to use humor to perk up children and their families. Erica was an integral part of the development of the ambulatory care model for the Almost Home Unit short stay procedural area of the hospital and has begun to develop standardized care guidelines for this area. She earned her BSN from Malone University and is a Certified Pediatric Nurse. She was the recipient of Children’s Daisy Award for her compassion and caring. Erica is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.
