Cheryl McAlexander - Premier Physicians Network

Cheryl has been an L.P.N. for the past 13 years. Cheryl is one of the most meticulous and best educators when it comes to patient care. She easily establishes a rapport with patients and families, which opens the door for individualized education for patients so they can be successful at home and minimize admission to the hospital. Cheryl has the innate ability to observe when a patient is overwhelmed; she will stop to talk through what is bothering the patient before continuing in teaching them. She is very thorough and takes whatever time is necessary to meet the patient’s needs. She explains and adapts everything in terms the patient can understand, relate to, and demonstrate back to her. This can be especially challenging given the many patient learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and range of ages across the continuum. Cheryl oftentimes will stay extra time to be sure her patient’s needs are met and doesn’t rest until she knows the patient has the equipment, knowledge, and confidence to manage their care. She goes above and beyond while definitely “walking the talk” with every patient, every time, making their experience the most positive.
