The Adapted Recreation program provides competitive and recreational opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Although these programs are designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, everyone is encouraged and welcome to attend. Extra wheelchairs are available and waiting on you to get involved. Bring a friend and take part in our many new and exciting activities!

Adapted Recreation Programs
You do not need to know how to swim in order to participate in this program. Come see what it is all about, increase your range of motion and flexibility, learn basic swimming skills and just have fun! Floatation devices and lift chair are available.
Intramurals - This energetic and fun program is open to all skill levels. Every Wednesday from 7-9pm, we will play one of the following; football, soccer, basketball, baseball, sharks and minnows and other exciting activities. This is a great way to learn a new skill, sweat a little, and meet new people. Head on over to the Student Union Gym to join the FUN!
This program offers students a unique opportunity to participate in various outdoor activities such as kayaking, skiing and climbing to name a few. Come join us on an outdoor adventure!
We provide the transportation; all you have to do is come along for the ride. See the schedule for specific events and times. Seating is limited so be sure to sign up early.
Adapted recreation welcomes you to participate in the Workout Buddy Program. The mission of this program is to introduce students with disabilities to various modes of sport and exercise. Having assistance may increase efficiency of the workout time as well as the enjoyment.
Did you know that WSU Adapted Recreation program offers more than just an opportunity to stay active and socialize? Well, we do! There is more for those that participate in our fantastic and fun programs to gain than the benefits of exercise and socialization (which are pretty fantastic by themselves). How does a 750 dollar scholarship sound? If it sounds as good to you as it does to me you will be happy to know that its amazingly easy to get! All you have to do is show up to adapted recreation activities to be nominated. Yep, that’s it! So come on out and enjoy some fun active time with us and work towards getting a scholarship at the same time. Working for a scholarship has never been more fun!
