why wright state
The biggest factors in my decision was the close proximity to home, the size of the campus, and the scholarships I was awarded.
working with professors
Professors hold office hours, these one-on-one meetings with the professor is extremely useful. It's a great time to have a subject further explained, clear up any questions, or simply just receive advice.
A little advice
My best advice would be to decide what you would like to invest your time in and go for it! Whether that be a campus club or organization, you can't go wrong when getting involved.
My biggest fear about college was my efforts going unnoticed. My high school graduating class was 50 students, making the transition to a university seemingly impossible. Upon my arrival to Wright State, I soon realized the impact I would have. Wright State is a comfortable size in which you can achieve as much as you work for.
living on campus
My freshman year, I lived in the Honors dorm on campus. It was a short ten minute walk to campus and very accessible to many resources. I also made life-long friends that lived on my floor as well. I felt involved because of my decision to live on campus.
a few of my favorite things
My favorite spot on campus is Rey Rey Cafe! Not only am I a coffee lover, but I love the idea behind this student-run business. The proceeds all go back to student scholarships!
My favorite class has been Biology of Food. Even though I am a business major, I was required to complete a few science courses. I found Bio of Food extremely intriguing and informative. My professor was also fantastic and extremely helpful.
My favorite experience has been playing intramural sports! It is a great way to stay active and meet new people. This year, I joined hockey, basketball, volleyball, and softball.
