the choice - why wright state
When I first visited Wright State, I fell in love with the campus instantaneously. The surrounding beauty of the university was the first thing that enticed me to make this my home. When I decided to further my education, I knew I wanted to go away from home, but close enough to keep in touch with my family. I also found Wright State to be financially fitting for my circumstances and have been able to get a quality education at less of a financial burden.
a bit of advice
Change is inevitable, therefore you should not shy away from it. Coming from high school I always had a set schedule being a three-sport athlete. Coming to college, my schedule did a complete 360. I really had to learn to manage my time well and fill the void of not having set extracurricular [activities] to attend every day. I wish I would have known that life isn't always an itinerary, sometimes you are forced to go with the flow without an organized schedule and that is okay.
my career goal
My goal is to pursue a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Wright State is adequately preparing me for this by giving me an all-inclusive education. Not only am I learning about the sciences that will directly play a role in treating my future patients but I am also required to take classes that focus on the social, emotional, and behavioral aspects of a person. By understanding a person as a whole, it will better equip me to develop a treatment plan best suited to their needs.
living on campus
I lived in the Honors Dorm my freshman year and I loved it! It was easy to go visit with your friends and being able to roll out of bed 10 minutes before classes started and still make it on time. I think the biggest benefit to living on campus was really getting accustomed to the environment and making connections that set the foundation for the rest of your time at Wright State.

My favorite class has been Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2. These classes really made me think and apply myself.

What is one things you wish you would have known when you were first starting college?
Life doesn't always deal us the cards that we want but instead the cards we need to grow and prosper. I am not going to lie; college and life throw a lot of curve balls but it's not always bad to feel challenged and uncomfortable. In fact, I have found more personal growth in the situations that didn't turn out as expected.
