4. Two parts.

  1. A piece of wood is placed in water and it immediately sinks.  It's density must be 1) greater than, (2) equal to, or (3) less than the density of water.
  2. The piece of wood is then placed in another liquid and it floats.  the density of this liquid is (1) greater than, (2) equal to, or (3) less than the density of water.
