Welcome to the home page for the The Pride and Prejudice Bicentennial! Throughout this site you will see suggestions for what you can do with this design layout. We hope that you enjoy what we have put together.

For this section of the page we suggest you describe what the page is for, and what objectives you wish to achieve. You could also describe site features like gatherings, blog spotlight, current events, donations, etc. This will allow people coming to the site to get a quick bead on your intentions and decide if they want to read more, as well as if they would be interested in signing up for the newsletter.

Featured Blog

This section could be used to highlight a student's blog that you think is exemplary. This section would host an excerpt and allow the reader to decide whether to keep reading or not. If they do, the link above will take the reader to the article on the blog page, creating more opportunities for your visitors to stay and read more.

A feature on the home page is a great way for students to be rewarded for their hard work, as well as showcase their talents to potential donors. This section would also add a somewhat competitive spirit for the students, and could incite them to take the blog to a new level.

Upcoming Events

Since part of this site's goal is to appeal to the Austen community, you could use this space to highlight upcoming Austen events in the local area as well as other events or like-minded sites that you feel followers would be interested in. For this page, you would choose a particular event that you want highlighted, and readers will be able to continue reading more by clicking the link above, which also opens the Events page, and should allow for further opportunities to explore more events. As awlays, you can always create a link directly within the content if you want to help someone who is only interested in The Film Screening, for example.

On the bottom left hand side of this page, there is an events section. This section will list the events and can be linked out to whichever site you choose that the reader can get more information about that particular event.
