Cogan Shimizu

I am a predoctoral researcher advised by Dr. Pascal Hitzler in the Data Semantics Laboratory at Wright State University. My research interests lie within the realms of Semantic Web and Natural Language Processing. In particular, I am interested in the automatic construction and population of an arbitrary knowledge graph from text corpora and the large scale systems that employ these techniques. Additionally, I am very interested in the pedagogy of computer science: I instruct undergraduate students in mathematics fundamental to computer science, volunteer to guide incoming freshman through the degree program, and serve as the student representative on the College Curriculum Committee.
