The research focus of the Baird lab is the evolution of adaptive
gene complexes. Various species in the nematode genus of
Caenorhabditis are used in these studies. Specific areas
of research include the genetics of transgressive segregation, the
genetics of reproductive isolation and the coevolution of the
mitochondrial and nuclear genomes.
