ESL Instructor, Wright State University

Background Information

Originally, I'm from the southeast part of Ohio, from the little town of Sugar Grove (near Lancaster). I came to Wright State to get my B.A. in Modern Languages. I worked in the University Writing Center during most of my time at Wright State, and that helped me decide to become a teacher, specifically an ESL teacher. I stayed at Wright State to get my M.A. in English: TESOL. I was a Teaching Assistant during my graduate study, and once I finished, I became an adjunct instructor, teaching mostly in the LEAP program. After two years of being an adjunct, I was hired as a full-time instructor, and I'm already in my second year of that. Time flies!

Although I enjoy teaching English as a Second Language, I also enjoy using computers. I like the predictability that comes with them, which is also why I like programming. There are certain rules to follow, and if you don't follow those rules, then things don't work exactly like they should. Structure like that is nice. Plus, it's pretty amazing what you can do by entering a few lines of code. Anyway, that explains why, right now, I'm taking a web design class and learning how to do a little HTML and a lot of CSS. This page is the result of that class. Enjoy!
