
Biography
Dr. Gupta has published articles in the Journal of Advertising, International Marketing Review, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Consumer Policy, Journal of Hospital Marketing, Health Marketing Quarterly, Advances in Consumer Research, American Marketing Association Conference Proceedings, and Frontier of Research in the Consumer Interest. He has presented papers at conferences of the American Marketing Association, Association for Consumer Research and INFORMS. Currently, Dr. Gupta is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Hospital Marketing, Journal of Professional Services Marketing, Health Marketing Quarterly, and Journal of Customer Service in Marketing and Management.
Prior to joining Wright State University, Dr. Gupta taught at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. During his doctoral studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Gupta received an Honorable Mention for Excellence in Teaching Award. He received the 1990 Faculty Innovations in Teaching Award from the College of Business Administration at the University of Northern Iowa He was also nominated for the 1994 University Book and Supply Outstanding Teaching Award at UNI and Carl Naish Teaching Award at Millard Fillmore College, Buffalo, New York. Dr. Gupta taught courses at the University of Klagenfurt, Austria and Moscow Linguistics University, Moscow, Russia.
As a doctoral candidate, Dr. Gupta was a Fellow at the national AMA Doctoral Consortium. He is a professional member of the American Marketing Association, INFORMS, and Alpha Mu Alpha Honor Society.
Before entering academics, Dr. Gupta worked as an Electrical Engineer in a large steel plant. The positions he held in the steel plant included Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager and Junior Engineer.
