I have a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in materials science and engineering from
Wright State University. I am currently a graduate student at Wright State working toward a Master of Science
degree in materials science and engineering with a focus in (alternative) energy. My thesis project deals with
developing a cheaper and lighter bipolar plate for fuel cells.
I am currently an officer in the Wright Engineering Council, and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
After my Masters I may continue on for a Doctorate working with ion engines. In general,
some of my research interests include fuel cells, carbon nanofibers, aerodynamic flow control, ion engines, and
other forms of advanced space propulsion. Take a look at my research page
to read about some of what I have already done.

I am a Christian and regularly attend the Greenville
Church of the Brethren. I also often attend other churches as a substitute
organist.
I am strongly opposed to alcohol and tobacco as well
as any type of illegal drug.

On TV, I like to watch Star Trek, Stargate, Battlestar
Galactica, Farscape, and Babylon 5 as well as Trigun, Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist,
Ghost in the Shell, Eureka Seven, and Avatar. My favorite movies are The Last Starfighter, the Star Trek movies,
the Star Wars movies, the X-Men movies, and Dune (all).
My favorite kind of music is classical music, but I
will listen to anything. In the way of instruments, I play the piano, organ,
and "my voice."
You can hear me play the organ on my organ page.
I am a Bengals and Ohio State football fan.

My dream as an engineer is to design a
faster-than-light starship. Short of that, I intend to do research that will help find cleaner and
more efficient ways of energy production and research on current space propulsion technology.
My hometown is Greenville, OH. I graduated in 2002
from Greenville High School as the Valedictorian in a class of about 300.
In high school, I was involved president of the science club.
I was also in the Greenville HS Concert Choir and Men's Choir.
In 2000 I had the awesome privilege of singing with my choir and a few others on
the stage of Carnegie Hall in NYC for the world premier of Dr. John Leavitt's
Requiem. Then in 2002, our Men's Choir was the only high school choir
to perform at the IMC national seminar at Purdue. That year we also performed
at the OMEA convention.
