Biography: Doctor Akhbari is an associate professor of Finance. She has an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, an MBA from Wright State University with concentrations in both Finance and Accountancy, and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. Her business experiences vary from retail buyer to accounting within the Montgomery County auditor’s system.. She has had the pleasure of instructing students at the University of Cincinnati, the University of Dayton, as well as Wright State. While at Wright State, she has been instrumental in the introduction of CFM preparation to the Accounting and Finance curricula and serves as advisor to the Finance Club and Co-coordinator of the Wright Financial Path, a student-to-student financial advice service. Her efforts have been well-recognized by her students who have elected her the outstanding Finance teacher for the past three years and the outstanding MBA teacher for academic year 2002-2003. Both Dr. Akhbari’s teaching assignments and research interests have been primarily in the field of Financial Management. |
