  1. Major Abstracts/Indexes

    1. PsycINFO "covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines, including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas. PsycINFO's worldwide coverage includes references and abstracts to over 1,300 journals in more than 30 languages, and to book chapters, books, and dissertations in the English language back to 1887. Over 57,000 references are added annually. PsycINFO is produced and copyrighted by the American Psychological Association." *APA*

    2. Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database covering the journal literature of the social sciences since 1980. Its coverage includes over 3,300 journals in 50 disciplines. SSCI is updated weekly.

    3. ERIC is a national information system sponsored by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement within the U.S. Department of Education. It provides a variety of products and services including databases, abstract journals, microfiche documents, a Web site, document reproductions, etc. The ERIC index is made up of the Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE), with journal article citations and abstracts from over 750 professional journals in education and closely related fields and Resources in Education (RIE), with document citations and abstracts on microfiche. ERIC Documents include materials like conference proceedings, curriculum guides, speeches, handbooks, workbooks, analytical reports, opinion papers, etc. ERIC also contains over 2,000 ERIC Digests records that feature full text of the original document. Dates of coverage are from 1966 to the present, with some full-text articles available.

    1. Electronic Format

      Business Source Premier provides abstracts for articles from over 3,200 business-related publications, including academic, professional, and trade journals published since 1965. The database is updated daily. Almost 85% of the publications indexed are full-text.

      CINAHL (Comprehensive Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) provides comprehensive coverage of the English language journal literature in nursing and allied health disciplines, from 1982+. Over 650 journals are indexed in CINAHL.

      ContentsFirst covers complete tables of contents pages of more than 13,000 journals in all fields of study from 1990+.

      Dissertation Abstracts provides citations to over 1.5 million doctoral dissertations and masters theses from over 1,000 U.S. and foreign institutions. It is updated monthly. DAI includes dissertations from most North American institutions published since 1861.

      Education Abstracts includes over 478 international periodicals, monographs, and yearbooks related to education. It covers materials from 1983+, with almost half the articles indexed full-text.

      Index To Legal Periodicals & Books is a bibliographic database that cites articles from 760 legal periodicals and more than 2,000 law books published since 1981.

      MEDLINE covers the international literature in medicine and closely related fields such as biomedicine, allied health fields, biological & physical sciences, psychiatry, etc. It covers materials from 1966+ and is updated monthly.

      Sociological Abstracts is a primary resource for information in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences from 1963+. Articles are indexed from an international selection of over 2,600 journals, serials, books, etc.
