MS201-3 Management Science Introductory Courses

The Management Science Introductory Courses (MS201, 202 and 203) are a sequence of courses that are required for business majors. These courses must be taken in order.

Introduction to Data Analysis (MS201) discusses statistical methods used in analysis of business problems, theory and application of frequency distributions, and measures of central tendency and variability.  Also covered are topics including; probability, expectation, probability distributions, sampling, and estimation.

Introduction to Statistical Inference (MS202) studies additional statistical methods used in analysis of business problems.  Statistical estimation, hypothesis testing with both single and multiple populations, the study of categorical data, analysis of variance, and regression techniques are some of the topics covered.

Applied Statistical Methods for Business (MS203) uses statistical and analytical techniques to aid in problem solving.  The course will cover such topics as; decision theory, forecasting, queuing theory, simulation, and linear programming techniques.
