This is a ticket validation machine. You need to validate your ticket when getting on buses and trains. The machines are located in the stations for trains. For buses, the machines are either at the bus stop/station or on the bus itself. If you do not validate, you will get fined if the conductor or other official discovers you are on a bus or train without a validated ticket.

Steps to Validation:

-Buy your ticket

-Before or when you get on (depending on whether it is a bus or train) look for a yellow box.

-stick your ticket into the box

-the machine prints a time and date

-remove your ticket

-Enjoy your ride
