In Italia Presto! - Ambassador Program Departs Dec 2
November 26, 2008
We will soon depart, a group of 16 WSU students and faculty studying honors history and travel/memoir writing in a new Ambassador Program to Italy.
We will soon see Brunelleschi's famed Duomo (photo left) in Florence, about which American artist Edwin Blashfield (1848-1936) and his wife commented: "Not even the pyramids impress more strongly; for if Brunelleschi built a lesser pyramid, he hollowed his and hung it in the air."
". . . In the low December sky
the gigantic egg laid there by Brunelleschi
jerks a tear from an eye experienced in the blessed
domes . . ."
