**TO ALL STUDENTS** : you will be using your calculator in this class; it is your responsibility to have a calculator and know how to use it to do basic calculations (it does not need to be a graphing calculator). Go to PILOT under "Course Information" to retrieve a practice sheet which shows the functions you need and gives some practice problems.

**NOTE: SAVE PAPER!!** When printing the powerpoint slides, try to find a printer that will print on both sides and will print multiple slides per page. The slides are very readable even when printing 16 slides per page.

**TO USE EXCEL FOR THE PROJECTS:**
Click on "Data" at the top panel in EXCEL. A "Data Analysis" panel should appear; if it doesn't then you need to add it by doing the following:
Click on the multi-colored tab in the extreme upper left corner,
click on "Excel Options" in the bottom of the panel,
click on "Add-ins" in the menu on the left,
in the box at the bottom where it says "Excel Add-ins", click "Go...",
check the box next to "Analysis ToolPak" and click "OK"
Now, when you click on "Data" at the top panel in EXCEL, a "Data Analysis" panel should appear. NOTE: this is for EXCEL 2007; if you have another version of EXCEL (2003 or 2011), then the procedure for adding the "Data Analysis" capability may be somewhat different.
