All materials for the course, including all powerpoint slides, are in PILOT. 

TO ALL STUDENTS :  you will be using your calculator in this class; it is your responsibility to have a calculator and know how to use it to do basic calculations (it does not need to be a graphing calculator).  Go to PILOT under "Course Information" to retrieve a practice sheet which shows the functions you need and gives some practice problems.

1.  Log into WINGS

2.  Click on the "Academics" tab

3.  Click on "Pilot" under the "MY COURSES" heading

NOTE:  SAVE PAPER!!  When printing the powerpoint slides, try to find a printer that will print on both sides and will print multiple slides per page.  The slides are very readable even when printing 16 slides per page.

FALL SEMESTER, 2013 (August 26 - December 14)

CMH 6100-01, BIOSTATISTICS FOR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

5:40 pm - 8:20 pm Tuesdays at Research Park

TO USE EXCEL FOR THE PROJECTS:

Click on "Data" at the top panel in EXCEL.  A "Data Analysis" panel should appear; if it doesn't then you need to add it by doing the following:

Click on the multi-colored tab in the extreme upper left corner,

click on "Excel Options" in the bottom of the panel,

click on "Add-ins" in the menu on the left,

in the box at the bottom where it says "Excel Add-ins", click "Go...",

check the box next to "Analysis ToolPak" and click "OK"

Now, when you click on "Data" at the top panel in EXCEL, a "Data Analysis" panel should appear.  NOTE:  this is for EXCEL 2007; if you have another version of EXCEL (2003 or 2011), then the procedure for adding the "Data Analysis" capability may be somewhat different.

3.  Click on "Course Studio" under the "MY COURSES" heading

4.  Click on the course "Biostatistics for Health"

5.  Click on "Files" under the "Course Tools" heading (left side of screen)  

6.  Click on the desired folder under the "Folders" heading on the left (e.g., "Powerpoint

     Slides"); click on the triangular tab (to the left of the "Powerpoint Slides" folder) to see       

     additional folders.

7.  Now the files can be accessed on the right side of the screen under the "Files in Biostatistics  

     for Health" heading; click on a given file name (e.g., "PP01 measurement.ppt") to open the 

     file.

8.  Continue clicking on the triangular tab to the left of a given folder to access additional folders.
