A Typical Week

Last week, as usual, my classes tried to consume my life. Mondays are filled with school, and after that completing homework for Tuesday. Tuesday had a change of pace though. After school, I went over to Nate's house. He had his tonsils removed Monday, so I brought along an orange icee for each of us. The original plan was to watch the first episode of Battlestar Gallactica, but after browsing the shows on his computer, we settled in to watch a few episodes of Cops instead. Wednesday was a bit like Monday, without the long break in the middle. I watched Lost when I got home, and tried to do some homework at the same time. It's definitely improving my multi-tasking abilities. Thursday, between classes, I went to my computer teacher to get some programming help. The bad thing about procrastinating is that really big things end up not getting done until the last minute. Friday, after Calculus, I went to work at the bakery. We didn't work too late this week, since we were all exhausted, so we went home, got some rest, and came back to work Saturday morning. The rest of Saturday was used trying to program and do other homework. I took a break in the evening to go over to Nate's, where we finally started watching Battlestar.

What's Going On

Overall, I'm doing pretty well. School keeps me busy, and it gets stressful at times. I am taking Fundamentals of Engineering, Calculus I, Computer Programming II, and English 102 (not to mention the labs that go with those). In Engineering, we are learning about resistors, diodes, current, and the like. In Calculus, we are learning about derivatives. I understand what he is saying about half of the time. In Computer Programming II, we are learning about GUIs (pronounced gooeys), which are kind of awesome things to do to windows, as well as how to write simple games (Asteroids look a likes). In English, we are learning about research reports. The whole class is basically focused on how to write an excellent paper that will wow people, including proper grammar and use of MLA formatting.

Life Commuting at WSU

The Student Union, where I spend a lot of time studying. Our friend, BART (undo the acronym at your own discretion)SRuss Engineering Center, my favorite building. All of the fun stuff is in here.Alumni Tower. I'm not too sure why it was built. It looks like a good place to sit in the springI haven't explored much here, but it is really big and shiny

As a commuter, I don't get into campus life too much. I spend a great deal of time on campus, between classes and breaks and such, but few of the activities fit conveniently into my schedule. The meals are pretty good. I don't know why, but I like the spaghetti a lot. I have found a new love for chocolate milk. There is a commuter lounge in the Student Union, where they have a microwave and lockers. I wish they had bunk beds, or hammocks. There are plenty of places to study, including a room with a piano in it where someone is usually playing some wonderful music.
