- Duties as Chair include:
- Communication to Interest Section membership (approximately 1300 members) through newsletter column, web-site, and list-serve.
- Liaison between steering committee and TESOL’s central office.
- Planning and participation of Interest Section events at annual conference, including business and planning meetings and other HEIS sponsored events.
- Participation in TESOL Leadership workshops and seminars at annual conference.
- Organization of featured panel presentations of well-known scholars from around the world at annual conference.
- Responsible for planning and organization of twelve “Discussion Group” leaders to represent HEIS in topic-specific group discussion at annual conference.
- Responsible for the on-line adjudication of approximately 300 proposals through 32 reviewers for the annual conference.
