At Wright State University, I serve as the principal investigator on projects related to AIDS and biodefense research. I study the molecular mechanisms of HIV-1 mutation, recombination, and pathogenesis. I also work on treatments for biological agents that have the potential to be used as weapons of mass destruction. My laboratory consists of areas equipped for modern molecular biology, tissue culture, and biocontainment.

I am classically trained as a microbiologist with advanced specialization in virology, and I have studied at esteemed universities in the United States with top researchers in the field of virology. As I train future generations of research scientists, my goal is to teach state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and instill my students with a worldly perspective on science.

I invite you to click through my Web site to learn more about me and my research and teaching interests. I have included information about my laboratory and students and have listed some of my favorite links.
