Essay #4
RESUME & APPLICATION LETTER
Here is your assignment for the final essay: Compose an application letter and corresponding resume for an entry-level position in a desired field. DUE DATE & TIME: Friday, Nov. 6, 5 p.m.
Stylize and structure these writings in a way that you think is suitable for the position. Additionally, remember to integrate the language of the job posting into your writing whenever possible; doing so demonstrates interest and familiarity with the employer. There are samples in Chp. 20 of NFG. More samples can be found in this Model Documents Gallery.
Above all, in both documents, establish yourself as a unique and dynamic job candidate. In the application letter you should establish yourself in this way in every paragraph, using specific details and examples.
There are many resources where you can find employment, ranging from local newspapers to Monster.com. Whatever the case, geography is not a factor in this assignment: you may apply to a job in Celina, Seattle, or Beijing as long as it is an entry-level position in your field.
