WHY I DECIDED TO PURSUE A CAREER IN MUSIC:
Music saved my life. When I moved to Lebanon in 8th grade I easily fit into that small, weird group of misfits. I had no other real friends until the high school marching band program. If not for music, I would probably still be hanging out with today's drug dealers and drug addicts and I want the opportunity to help others the way music helped me.
FAVORITE TRUMPET SOLO:
J. Haydyn Trumpet Concerto
FAVORITE GROUP/PERFORMER:
Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band
FAVORITE COMPOSITION/COMPOSER:
An American Elegy - Frank Ticheli
It's an extremely emotional song written in honor of those who died in the Columbine shooting. This song is very beautifully written and it is a joy to play because it's easy to put a lot of emotion into.
