Study Guide for the Midterm

The midterm will consist of identifications and short answer questions, and will last one hour. Below is a list of the different kinds of questions that will be included on the exam.

• Identify people or events.

Examples:

Tiberius Gracchus

Peloponnesian War

Joab

• Identify images.

Example: Give the title of this work and in a few sentences explain its significance to a historian:

• Map identifications.

Example: Label the locations of Rome, Athens, Jerusalem and Constantinople.

• Extended Answer.

Examples:

--What are three key themes in the writings of the Hebrew prophets?

--In a few sentences, explain why the U.S. senate is called the senate.
