Welcome to CIS8140 Spring 2001

Welcome to CIS8140! I am planning to make a fair number of changes to this course, which will make the course more up-to-date with current technology and will hopefully make the course easier to follow. The schedule will hence be somewhat in a state of flux, but you should always get ample warning when something is changed in the schedule.

Announcement: Recommended text book

Although the Connolly/Begg Text book (CB) is still the officially required text book, you are highly recommended to use the Elmasri/Navathe (EN) text book instead, unless you have already bought the Connolly book. The only difference is that you will most likely like the Elmasri text better, although readings will be assigned from both books (marked with CB and EN respectively) and you may use either or both for the class purpose
