Dr. Arijit Sengupta is Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and AACSB Accreditation and Professor of the Department of
Information Systems and Supply Chain Management in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University. He
received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indiana University
in 1997, and worked as the Director of
Educational Development and Assistant Professor in Indiana
University until 1999. He worked as a faculty in the department of Computer
Information Systems at Georgia State University and Assistant Professor
in Information Systems at the
Kelley School of Business at IU,
before joining Wright State University in 2005.
His research interests are primarily in database systems, and in particular, database systems for structured documents. He has published several papers in leading conferences and journals, and has led the development of the research prototype Docbase, a query processing software for SGML and XML documents. His other research interests include Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), data mining, semantic web technologies and ontologies, human-computer interaction, bioinformatics, and case-based reasoning. |
