Wright State University's history of partnership with the business community spans back to our founding in 1962 when area businesses recognized the need to establish a public university in the Miami Valley to expand the region's education work force and ensure its economic vitality. These businesses joined forces to organize a community fund drive that raised the seed money to create Wright State University.

Today that tradition continues as WSU forges intellectual partnerships with a wide variety of corporations and foundations, resulting in new business development and ground-breaking research benefiting individual businesses and the university. Their investments in Wright State University not only ensure the continued strength of business and industry in the Miami Valley, but also add to its competitive edge.
