Credit Card Convenience Fee Notice

As you may know, the State of Ohio budget challenges have had a significant impact on public universities.  In our continuing effort to keep costs down, we must change the way we accept credit card payment for student account charges.  Currently, we pay a fee for each credit card payment we receive. This adds up to over $400,000 per year in fees, and costs continue to rise.

Beginning summer quarter 2006, WSU will accept credit card payment for tuition, room and board or other fees ONLY through WINGS Express online payment.  This change will help us keep costs down for you, our students.  Wright State University has contracted with a third party, Pay Path, to process MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit card payments online only through WINGS Express.  There will be a fee of 2.75% applied to your credit card to pay for this service.  The fee is not refundable, even if the payment is refunded.  Visa cards will not be accepted, as they are unwilling to participate at this time.

We still offer several easy payment options with no additional cost to you.

• Online by E-Check/ACH.  You can pay via E-Check/ACH free of charge at the fee payment site in WINGS Express.
• By check or money order mailed to WSU Office of the Bursar, 3640 Colonel Glenn Highway, Dayton, OH 45435-0001.  Note: You must include a hardcopy of your electronic billing statement with your payment.  You can access your statement at our fee payment Web site in WINGS Express.
• In person by check, money order or cash at the Office of the Bursar, E236 Student Union.  Hours 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Friday.  After-hour payments can also be placed in the secure night depository box adjacent to the Cashier Windows.  Lake Campus students can pay in person at the Student Services Office in Dwyer Hall.

Our Student Installment Payment Plan is another convenient payment option.  You can enroll online through our fee payment link on WINGS Express and pay using any of the ways described above. The cost for the three-installment payment plan is $30.00.  There is no interest, and as long as the payments are made on time, no additional fees.  This low-cost plan can help you avoid high-interest credit card debt. You can pay in full at any time.
