Wright State UniveristyVirtual Tour - Text DescriptionsStudent Union, University Hall and Walking Paths This is a panoramic vista of the south end of campus. University Hall, with its two-toned exterior and plaid-like window design, is the newest building on campus. The large red steel sculpture, Turning Points, can be seen between University Hall and Rike Hall. To the right of Turning Points is the Mathematical and Microbiological Sciences Building easily distinguished from the side by one of its two pierced towers. This overview also shows the many open, grassy areas on campus and convenient paved walkways leading to all of the buildings. Continuing on the right is the eight-sided Medical Sciences Building. From this view of the octagonal building can be seen a three-story frosted glass enclosure that projects out from the brick face. Its smooth texture, slightly lower height, and translucency is a nice diversion from the rest of the brick walls. To the right, in the distance, can be seen the back of the Student Union. The tall building next to the Student Union is Hamilton Living Learning Center, the first dormitory-style residence hall on campus and the closest to the academic buildings. This is one of five areas of student housing. This three-story building has five sets of identical windows that rise the full height of the building, plus a one-story entrance that is completely glass. The building's unique feature is an edging of white along both the lower and upper most edge of the building making it an eye-catcher, even from a distance. |
